Integrative Counselling in Dalston, East London & Online
What is counselling?
Counselling provides a dedicated space to explore your concerns, whether it's anxiety, difficult life changes, relationship issues, or a subtle, lingering feeling that something's wrong. Unlike giving advice or solving problems, counselling encourages you to slow down, turn inward, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
My Approach
My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor my methods to suit your individual needs by drawing from several therapeutic approaches. I mainly work from existential and psychodynamic perspectives.
Existential counselling delves into life's big questions — about meaning, identity, freedom, and what it truly means to live authentically. It views feelings of anxiety, disconnection, or being lost not just as issues to fix, but as opportunities to understand yourself more deeply. Therapy doesn't aim to eliminate anxiety but to help find the courage to live with uncertainty. Authentic living involves maximising life's opportunities and gaining clarity in our goals and intentions.
Some examples of questions we might explore:
"How do I figure out who I am when I strip away my job title, my relationship, and other people's expectations?"
"Am I staying in this situation because I genuinely want to, or because I’m afraid of the uncertainty of leaving?"
"Why do I feel completely alone and disconnected, even when I am surrounded by friends or a partner?"
How do I accept that I cannot control the future without letting anxiety ruin my present?"
Psychodynamic therapy explores how your early relationships and past experiences shape your current habits, behaviours, and feelings. Together, we aim to bring unconscious thoughts and emotions into awareness, helping you let go of old patterns in a supportive and understanding environment.
Some examples of questions we might explore:
"Why do I keep attracting partners who are emotionally unavailable, even though I crave deep intimacy?"
"Did I learn early on that I am only worthy of love when I am achieving, performing, or being 'the strong one'?"
"What am I actually afraid will happen if I completely let my guard down?"
These two approaches naturally complement each other.
One asks who am I, and how do I want to live? The other explores why I keep living this way. Both are important.

LGBTQIA+ & Culturally affirming Counselling
I support individuals who might look fine on the surface but are secretly battling anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, or repeating unhelpful patterns despite their efforts. Many of my clients are people of colour, men, trans+ and other members of the LGBTQIA+ community; groups that often feel unseen, misunderstood, or marginalised in traditional therapy settings.
Many LGBTQIA+ clients have experienced therapy that left them feeling inadequate, uncomfortable, or required them to educate their therapist. This won't happen here; we begin by truly understanding your needs and work together towards your therapeutic goals from the very first session.
Men's Mental Health
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a barber for more than ten years. This experience provided me with a first-hand understanding of the cultural, social, and emotional barriers that often stop men from seeking help until they are in crisis.
I offer an accessible, non-judgmental space where men can talk openly about grief, relationships, work stress, identity, loneliness, or simply the weight of keeping everything together. You don't need to arrive with the right words. You need to show up.
